Objectives of the Course
The objective of this course is to teach water analysis, fiber identification test, fastness tests and ecotextile analysis.

Course Contents
Water analysis in textile mills. Qualitative fibre analysis: Cellulosic, protein, synthetic, and acetate fibres and their blends. Quantitative fibre analysis: Analysis of materials composed of two or three fibres. Quality measurements of textile materials. Colorfastness tests.Ecotextiles.

2Physical and chemical water analysis (color,clarity, pH, total residue, determination of suspension quantity, evaporation residue), determination of water hardness and alkalinity

5Introduction to chemical fiber analysis, sample preperation, determination of single fibers.
6Tests made in chemical agents and solvents, identification of natural and regenerated fibers, determination of full artificial and synthetic fibers
7Qualitative and quantitative blend fiber analysis (double and triple)
8Identification of single fibers (Natural and synthetic fibers)
9Qualitative blend fiber analysis
10Mid-Term
11Fastness tests, scales used to evaluate fastness, determination of various color fastness
12Light, rubbing, perspiration, water, water drop, dry cleaning, sea water and pool water
13Ecotextiles and analysis (pH, formaldehyde, heavy metal, PCP, arylamine, volatile ve odor producing compounds)
