The objectives of this course are informing the following questions definitely and creating awareness of being member of a university. What is a “University” ? What is “Being a member of a University”? What are the advantages of "University Life"? What are the rules for "University Life"? What types of facilities and services are provided in Ege University? What are the main topics of textile engineering?

Course Contents
The activities related to university and university life such as scientific, occupational, social, cultural, art, sport etc. are the content of this course. Information about the main topics of textile engineering will be given.

1Meeting with students and giving general information about the course, giving information about the grading system, visiting the training mills in the department
2General information about Ege University
3Introduction of the activities which the students will be responsible of doing in this course, dividing the students into groups
4Classification of the fibres and yarns, introduction to cotton and wool spinning
5Introduction to weaving preparation, weaving, knitting and nonwovens
6Introduction to fibre, yarn and fabric tests and experimental procedures
7Introduction to textile finishing treatments (finishing, dyeing, printing)
8Introduction to apparel production and organization
