To provide students with basic technological and management skills required to plan, develop and implement agricultural mechanization in operational, regional and farm levels.

Course Contents
Aims and benefits of mechanization, efficiency and intensity criterium, mechanization in Turkish and the world agriculture, importance and necessity of mechanization planning. Operator, machine and tractor performances. Machinery selection: General principles, tractor selection, machinery selection. Mechanization costs: Cost components and calculating methods, effects of inflation in holding cost, indirect costs, cost management. Mechanization planning: Why is it necessary and basic concepts, machinery selection and planning techniques in operation and farm level. Financing farm machinery. Alternative methods of acquiring and replacing machinery.
