Objectives of the Course
The aim is to let students to understand why soilless cultivation is used, to be aware of developments in this subject, to understand the trends for covering plant water and nutrient requirements in soilless cultivation, to plan and to manage soilless cultivation at commercial level, to solve problems facing in soilless plant production.

An introduction (History of soilless culture, The development of soilless culture in the world and Turkey, Reasons for extention of soilless culture in the greenhouses) Soilless culture techniques (Water culture, Substrate culture), Substrates, Reusing of substrates, Irrigation and nutrition in substrate culture, Plant nutrition in soilless culture, Preperation and application of nutrient solution, Diagnostic procedures, Advantages and disadvantages of soilless culture, Environmental effect of soilless culture, The Future.
