Objectives of the Course
To theach the general structure and natianol-international status of turf culture, recent development in turf crop activities, to improve students comprhension and interpretation skills on the turf quality, management and agronomy and to provide information to improve ability to decide about the turf implantation, sustainability and other issues in regional and ecological scales

22. To interprete and suggest new ideas about the problems encountering in the duration of turf crop cultivation and turf implantation procedures
33. To get detailed information about the turf crop biology and to gain ability to synthesize these information in turf projects
44. Benefiting from the given information about the positive and negative characteristics of cool and warm season grasses, to accomplish a skill to produce models for turf projects aiming to impove environmental sustainablity and landscape
55. To have the capability of advising overnment bodies, private sectore and turf producers about the crop material, seed supply, economical issues of turf production
66. To have the ability to integrate and synthisize the knowledge about the turf production modelling and evaluate potantial turf choises on a Regional basis

Course Contents
Importance, history and functions of turs areas with regard to sustainable environment. Quality criteria and production techniques of turfs and turf crops in Turkey and in the world. Cool and warm season turfgrasses and other family turf crops. Turf maintanance. Principles of turf practices in Mediterranean ecologies. Sport fields, reclamation and recreation area constructions.
