Objectives of the Course
To provide skills in order to be able to use expertise-level of institutional knowledge gained in the field of geriatric nursing, in the nursing management for geriatric patients with acute and/or chronic diseases and their families, to evaluate the results in terms of quality processes and to work dependently as a member of health care team.

Learning Outcomes
1To be able to transfer theoretical knowledge gained in the field of geriatric nursing into application
2To be able to establish training needs of geriatric patients with acute or chronic diseases and to prepare training materials by using data processing technologies
3To be able to evaluate acute and chronic conditions that can be encountered in applications of geriatric nursing, to generate solutions by assuming responsibility, when needed, to practice evidencebased protective, therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing interventions, to record them and to evaluate the results
4In the application area of geriatric nursing during unexpected conditions, to be able to formulate new strategic plans and to produce solutions by assuming responsibility
5To be able to follow evidence-based studies carried out toward the application area of geriatric nursing and to share the results with health care team

This course includes nursing practices about preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative services in elderly person with acute and/or chronic disease.
