Objectives of the Course
The aim of the lecture is to provide the students to comprehend basic information on fungicides, that were used and are been used against major plant pathogens in Turkey, their potential risks and taken necessary measurements to safe environment, human health and non-target organisms. Recommend and apply the fungicides against important plant pathogens on their specific properties.

Introduction: History and definitons, Chemical structures and general properties of fungicides,Modes of action of fungicides,Fungicide Classification: Biological fungicides, preventive fungicides, systemic fungicides and other fungicides

7Basic properties and evaluation of common active ingredients of preventive fungicides (cupper compounds, sulphurs, dicarboximides and dithiocarbamates)

9Basic properties and evaluation of common active ingredients of preventive fungicides (stannic compounds, nitro compounds, oxazolidinedione and others)
10Basic properties and evaluation of common active ingredients of systemic fungicides (amines and amides, benzimidazoles, morpholines and pyrimidines)
11Basic properties and evaluation of common active ingredients of systemic fungicides (imidazoles, triazoles and other systemic fungicides)
12Basic properties and evaluation of common active ingredients of other fungicides
13Recommendation of fungicides based on their effectiveness and cost/benefit
14Recommendation of fungicides based on their potential risks on human and environment
