Objectives of the Course
At the end of this course, students will evaluate the structure of agroindustry and its place in the Turkish economy, concept of agricultural industry enterprise, characteristics and functions of these enterprises as a whole.

1To understand the structure of agroindustry and it’s place and importance in Turkish economy
2To understand the problems on integration between agriculture and industry sectors (Global and Turkey) and and improve suggestions for solution
3To evaluate the factors that effect the location decision of agroindustry enterprises
4To implement planning and controlling of production in these firms
5To understand the general concept of agricultural industry enterprises
6To analyze the relationship between production management and the other functions of firms
7To evaluate the importance of marketing function for agricultural industry and able to choose the appropriate marketing methods
8To evaluate the general problems of agroindustry and problems of sub-sectors
9To understand the management and it’s functions in the agroindustry firms
10To conceive of production costs and realize capacity planning

Course Contents
The relationships between agriculture and industry and types of integration; Problems and solutions in the integration of agriculture and industry; Definition of agroindustry and the place and importance of agroindustry in the Turkish economy; The general problems of agroindustry and problems of sub-sectors and solutions; Basic concepts: Enterprise concept, types of enterprise, agricultural enterprises and the factors that differentiate these enterprises from industrial enterprises; Agricultural industry enterprises and the enterprises relevant to agriculture; general specifications of agroindustry enterprises; The factors that effect the location decision of agroindustry enterprises; The management and it’s functions in the agroindustry firms; Production function in agroindustry industry enterprises: concepts of production and production management, relationship between production and other enterprise functions, production lines, planning and controlling of production, production cost and planning of capacity; Marketing functions in agroindustry enterprises: concept of marketing and importance for enterprises, functions of marketing (Traditional marketing functions, Managerial marketing functions)
