Objectives of the Course
Bituminous mixtures are unique materials that used as pavement in our country. Thus, this class in which apart from teaching properties, types and mechanical tests of this bitumen and bituminous, it is also aimed at helping attendants in pavement applications.

Chemical composition and rheology of bitumen. Conventional test methods applied to the bituminous binder. Mineralogical classification of aggregate, shape and surface structure. Tests applied to aggregate. Bituminous mixtures, bituminous hot mix design methods. Marshall Design Method. Superior performing asphalt pavements (Superpave) method. Superpave specification of binder. Superpave tests of binder. Superpave design of binder. Superpave design of aggregate and applied tests. Superpave design of mixture. Occurred decays in hot mix asphalt. Modification of bitumen and hot mix bitumens. Expected properties of bituminous hot mix.
