History
Master of Regional Relations: European Union - Mediterranean Sudies without Thesis, is provided in affiliation with Ege University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of International Relations.
Qualification Awarded
The graduates that complete the program with all its requirements get “Non-Thesis Graduate Degree”.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
The terms about general arrangements for recognition of prior learning is explained under the title of “General Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning” in Ege University Information Package (http://ebys.ege.edu.tr/ogrenci/ebp/general-arrangements.htm). Besides the rules are given in Ege University Regulations for Graduate Education (http://oidb.ege.edu.tr/egeoidbalt.asp?xon=192&alt=207).
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The purpose of Graduate Program Without Thesis is to inform student with the relavant vocational information, and show how to use these information in practice. This program can be provided as day-evening education, e-learning or mixed type. This program is composed of 90 ECTS with 10 courses at least, of which is not less than 30 local credits, and term project. Term project is evaluated as successful or failed. Students have to register for term project in the relevant semester and submit a written report at the end of the semester. A proficiency exam can be made at the end of non-thesis graduate program, with the institute council’s suggestion and Senate approval. Terms for proficiency for graduation comprises of completing all the courses successfully having 2.00 GPA (Grade Point Average) over 4.00 and completing term project successfully.
Profile of The Programme
The best way to succeed in utilizing the opportunities and evaluating historical and self interest based risks in Euro-Mediterranean axis, can only be actualized by understanding the history, diplomacy, demography and economical potential of the region by entrepreneurs, politicians, public officials, members of non-governmental organizations, armed forces and police organization. Regional Relations: Euro-Mediterranean Studies” non-thesis MA program aims to give an academical vision to public and private sector personnel as well as the persons who wish to improve themselves about the region. By this aim, it is intended to make participants specialize at their own discipline and academically productive in the context of Euro-Mediterranean region.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Our graduates have chance to be hired at wide range of positions in public and private sector establishments. For example, Foreign Ministry, EU General Secretary, EU and foreign departments of public sector, foreign trade departments of private companies.
Access to Further Studies
According to the third provisional clause of Graduate Education Legislation which is published in Resmî Gazete in 1/7/1996, students who have registered to graduate programs without thesis before the date 6/2/2013, has the same rights with the graduates of graduate programs with thesis in the application of PhD programs. For he students who have registered to graduate programs without thesis before the date 6/2/2013, the requirements for the PhD program is identified by the institute board, depending on the suggestion of departmental council. The students who have registered after this date has no right for application.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The measurement and evaluation of a course is made based on mid-term exam, other within semester course educational activities if any, final exam and make-up exam if it exists. The contribution percentage of within semester educational activities and final examination to final grade is determined by the instructor prior to the registration week and announced to the students in the first week of the semester. The contribution percentage of within semester activities is supposed to be between 40%-70 and contribution percentage of final and make-up exams are supposed to be between 60%-30.

Facilities
Department students can take part in all of the social, cultural, sports facilities and club activities that are provided by Ege University Rectorate. Information about these facilities are given in detail under the title of General Information for Students in Ege Information Package (http://ebys.ege.edu.tr/ogrenci/ebp/info-students.htm). Besides, in our department there are various clubs which are related to International Relations. Students can take a part in the activities of these clubs in the light of their area of interest. By means of symposiums and congresses in various topics, speakers that are invited to our faculty, and internships; students have the chance of chasing the developments in practice as well as in theory. Furthermore students have also the chance to be members of faculty teams in sports branches like football, basketball, volleyball etc.

1For those graduated from different undergraduate programs either working in the public or private sectors, or those aiming at becoming experts in the field, to be able to improve and deepen the acquired theoretical and practical knowledge reaching a level of expertise in field of the European Union-Mediterranean Studies,
2To be able to combine knowledge in field of the European Union-Mediterranean Studies with knowledge originated from other disciplines; to be able to analyse specific issues and problems with an interdisciplinary approach using scientific methods,
3To be able to assess critically concepts, issues and problems in field of the European Union-Mediterranean Studies; to be able to determine learning requirements and to guide the learning process,
4To be able to present the current issues and new developments in field of the European Union-Mediterranean Studies, and her/his own work to individuals either from or outside the discipline in writing, orally and visually,
5To have social, scientific and ethical values during the data collection, interpretation, presentation and application stages in field of the European Union-Mediterranean Studies,
6To be able to carry out interdisciplinary studies based on the knowledge and problem-solving ability gained in field of the European Union-Mediterranean Studies,
