History
Regional Development Economics Master's Programme is presented within Ege University Social Science Institute, Economics Branch.
Qualification Awarded
The Master’s Degree in Economics(Regional Development) is awarded to the graduates who have successfully fulfilled all programme requirements.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Theregulations regarding recognition of prior learning are explained in the headline of "Recognition of Prior Learning" (http://ebys.ege.edu.tr/ogrenci/ebp/tr/taninma-proseduru.htm). Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The objective of the Master's Degree Programme is to provide students ability to access, evaluate and interpret information through scientific research. This programme consists of at least seven courses which should not be less than 21 local credits, seminar course, profiency area course and thesis studies in total 120 ECTS. The sufficient conditions to graduate the programme are to pass all the courses, to have at least 2.00 weighted average grade over 4.00 and to successfully complete the thesis.
Profile of The Programme
The objective of the programme is intended to promote the student's scientific research abilities inorder to obtain, evaluate and interpret economic information. For this purpose it aims to develop the basic theoretical background in the field of regional economics, to provide the students the ability to evaluate economic events in a regional perspective and to explain in these by using regional economic instruments.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of the MS in regional development economics are trained to be able to take up suitable positions at the private sector, the public sector, international institutions and also international markets. The graduates of MS program may also further study for the Ph. D. inorder to improve their academic career..
Access to Further Studies
Graduates who successfully completed the Master's Degree may apply to doctorate (third cycle) programmes in the same or in related disciplines, given they obtain a sufficient grade in ALES exam and they have foreign language profiency. They will be accepted to further studies if they are successfull in the interview exam.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The assessment and grading of a course is based on midterm exam and semester activities (if there is) and afinal exam and a make up exam (if there is). The instructor of the course determines the contributions of semester activities and final exam as a percentage to the grade before registration week and registration to the course and announces to the students in the first week of the courses. The percentage contribution of semester activities is between 40-70% range, the contribution of the final exam and make up exam (if there is any) is between 60-30% range.
