Key Learning Outcomes
1To be able to explain and summarize the scope and the theoretical foundation of scientific method with their own words.
2To be able to give examples on the social responsibilities of science and scientists.
3To be able to explain the importance of the science of Epidemiology
4To be able to explain the concepts of health, disease and prevention according epidemiologixcal perspective
5To be able to differentiate between the concepts of causation and association
6To be able to classify, calculate and interprete different health indices
7To be able to classify the studies in health care sciences according to different criteria
8To be able to explain the design features of epidemiological studies and to describe their uses, strengths and limitations
9To be able to differentiate between the usages of basic descriptive and analytical biostatistical techniques, including multivariate analyses, to apply these techniques and to interpret their results
10To be able to give examples of national and international health statistics, such as population registration systems and to use these resources
11To be able to develop quantitative and qualitative data collection tools, and to measure their validity and reliability.
12To be able to explain the need for being a critical reader and to review the scientific litarature critically
