Objectives of the Course
As a part of medical service a dentist must have a general knowledge about communicable diseases inorder to serve efficiently in any part of the country by means of Preventive care. Additionally there are number of parasites that invade oral cavity, these microorganisms and clinical symptoms that they cause must be well known by a dentist to diagnose and to treat are the objectives of this course.

1Must be familiar with the symptoms of ectoparazites that transmits with direct contact
2Must know the preventive parameters of avoiding parasite transmission
3Must know where to direct the patients with parasitic symptoms
4Must know the clinic of the parasites that inhabits in oral cavity
5Must know the agents to treat the parasites of the oral cavity
6Must follow the outcomes of the antiparasitic therapy
7Must know the side effects of agents used in the treatment of parasites inhabiting in the oral cavity
8Must know the drug interaction of the agents used in the treatment of the parasites of the oral cavity
9Must have an idea about the geographical distribution of comonly seen parasites
10Must know the life cycles of the parasites
11Must have a general idea to the medical parasites to enlighten the public

Course Contents
Additional to details about commonly seen parasites a general view about protozoology, helminthology and entomology are considered as the objectives of this course. To help the public by means of preventive medicine Clinical findings, routes of transmission, treatment of parasites inhabiting in oral cavity complications&drug interactions of the treatment are major topics to be discussed.
