Objectives of the Course
Main objectives of this course are: * To teach the techniques and methology of intraoral and extraoral examination. * To establish basic knowledge not only for the diseases in relation with the tissues of the head and neck area, but also common systemic diseases which may manifest intraorally. * To provide theory and practice of making treatment planning, differential and definite diagnosis after collecting data relevant to the whole signs of the disease.

Learning Outcomes
1Chief complaint and the history of the present illness, collecting and evalution of the data relevant to the signs of the disease
2Taking family health data, dental and medical history, evalution of the findings
3Teaching the extraoral and ıntraoral examination techniques and interpretation of the findings
4Teaching the common systemic diseases such as cardiovascular,endocrine, immune,gastrointestinal, urinary ,repiratory, hematology, neuromuscular system diseases which may manifest orofacially.
5Diagnostic methods and treatment plannings of the Salivary gland diseases
6Teaching the size, number, shape and structural anomalies of the teeth
7Differential diagnosis of and treatment planning of the oral mucosal ulcerative, exophytic,vesiculobullous and pigmented lesions.
8Teaching the laboratory techniques which may help for diagnosis

10İmmune System Diseases Oral signs at the primary immune deficiencies (B- lymphocyte disturbance, T- lymphocyte disturbance bozuklukları, B and T cell distrubances) and dental management. Oral signs at the seconder immune deficiencies (leukemia, Hodgkin diseases, nephrotic syndrome, multipl myeloma, sarcoidosis, AIDS, immunosuppressive ilaç tedavisi) and dental treatment, allergic reactions.
