Objectives of the Course
The objective of this course is to provide the students to be able to clarify and to interpret the mechanisms of the biosynthesis and secretion the local hormons in the body; their roles in physiological and pathophysiological processes; to classify and to questionize the mechanisms of the action of analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drugs; their unwanted effects; their interaction with drug/food/natural products/disease; the basic principles of their use; to know authonomic nervous system; to explain the functions of authonomic nervous system and its anatomical, morphological and neurobiochemical properties in mammalians; to interpret neorotransmission in autonomic ganglia, junctions and synapses, to distinguish receptors and receptor subtypes in these structures and cellular events developing by these receptors; to classify and to questionize parasympathomimetic, parasympatholytic, sympathomimetic and sympatholytic drugs; clarify and to questionize the regulatory mechanisms of blood pressure in the body; classify and to questionize the mechanism of the action of antihypertensive drugs; their unwanted effects; their interaction with drug/food/natural products/disease; the basic principles of their use

5Distinguish the autonomic receptors and receptor subtypes and to intrepret the cellular events developing by these receptors
6Classify and to questionize the mechanism of the action of parasympathomimetic and parasympatholytic drugs; their unwanted effects; their interaction with drug/food/natural products/disease; the basic principles of their use
7Classify and to questionize the mechanism of the action of sympathomimetic and sympatholytic drugs; their unwanted effects; their interaction with drug/food/natural products/disease; the basic principles of their use
8Clarify and to questionize the regulatory mechanisms of blood pressure in the body
9Be able to measure the blood pressure accurately
10Questionize the management of the treatment of hypertension
