Objectives of the Course
The aim of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy IV course is to provide the students with an understanding of the pharmacological basis of the treatment of respiratory, gastrointestinal, cancer, rheumatic and autoimmune diseases; as well as to teach the pharmacology of drug use in geriatric, pediatric patients and pregnancy. In addition, to provide an understanding of the basics of pharmacogenomic treatment.

Learning Outcomes
1To be able to comprehend the management of respiratory system diseases, to be able to question the mechanism of action of drugs used in respiratory system diseases, adverse effects, drug-drug / food / natural product / disease interactions and drug use principles in treatments
2To be able to comprehend and apply the effective use of inhalation devices
3To be able to comprehend the management of gastrointestinal system diseases
4To be able to classify drugs acting on the gastrointestinal tract, to question the mechanisms of action, adverse effects, drug-drug / nutrient / natural product / disease interactions and drug use principles in treatments
5To be able to comprehend the individualization of therapy and gene therapy approaches, to define the discipline of pharmacogenomy
6To be able to comprehend the factors that change the effect of drugs and treatment management in special patient groups (pediatric, geriatric, pregnancy, lactation)
7To be able to comprehend the management of treatment in cancer patients and to question the mechanism of action of drugs used in anticancer treatment, adverse effects, drug-drug / nutrient / natural product / disease interactions and drug use principles in treatments
8To be able to comprehend the treatment management in rheumatic diseases and to question the mechanism of action of drugs used in the treatment of rheumatism, adverse effects, drug-drug / nutrient / natural product / disease interactions and drug usage principles in treatments
9To be able to comprehend treatment management in autoimmune diseases and to be able to question the mechanism of action of drugs used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases, adverse effects, drug-drug / nutrient / natural product / disease interactions and drug use principles in treatments
10To be able to question the mechanism of action of sports and lifestyle drugs, adverse effects, drug-drug / nutrient / natural product / disease interactions and drug use principles in treatments
11To be able to comprehend hematopoietic system and to question the mechanisms of action, adverse effects, drug-drug / nutrient / natural product / disease interactions and drug use principles in the treatment of drugs effective on hematopoietic system.
