Objectives of the Course
The main goal of this course is to help fresher students utilizing computer technology at maximum and efficiently use information technologies in Pharmaceutical Studies

4to be able to use a word processor efficiently so that to be able to write and format a research/project report, an article, a thesis or a book, by using many features such as creating table of contents, indexes and cross references etc
5to be able to understand basic computer related terminology in English

The students are recommended to do further practices after the class to get better understanding and to develop their skills in using computer technology
Course Contents
The course content covers following subjects: introduction to computer technology and the computer terminology, hardware and software related subjects, operating systems, drivers, directories and general information on computer files, file extensions and categories, how to select/cut/copy and paste, how to use a word processor, introducing the menus, basic file tasks such as page set up, defining margins and paper size, formatting a word document, character and paragraph formatting features, defining and applying styles such as body text, headings, other text styles and their outline levels, how to create and format table of contents, how to insert pictures, objects graphs, equations etc. in to a document, how to create, edit and format tables,, how to add captions to the graphs, tables etc, and to create index of tables, graphics etc., how to arrange headers and footers, how to form different headers and footers for each section or/and different on odd and even pages, inserting a break, creating a section, using different formats in each section, how to create and format indexes such as index of terms or index of authorities, cross referencing, working with and updating fields, auto correct options, document security, how to write/record/run a macro, possible problems while working on a document and their solutions
