Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to inform students on real gases, laws of thermodynamics and their applications to many systems.

1To gain insight on the general properties of matter
2To be able to determine the relation between real and ideal gases

5To learn the laws of thermodynamics
6To be able to select the appropriate methos for thermodynamic expressions.
7To be able to explain the garphics by using thermodynamics
8To evaluate, compare and comment on the results

Course Contents
Gases, equations of state, molecular rates and collision theory, first law of thermodynamics (heat, work, energy and enthalpy), second law of thermodynamics (entropy and free enegy) third law of thermodynamics, equilibrium in pure substances (chemical potential, phase equilibrium), heat and free energy changes in chemical reactions, effect of heat and pressure on equilibrium constants, heterogeneous reactions.
