In this course, it is intended to furnish the student with the physical chemical principles of polymeric materials and polymerization reactions.

Course Contents
Basic concepts : monomer, polymer, types of polymers and plastics. Polymerization reactions; condensation, addition and ionic and coordination polymerization and their kinetics, co-polymerization. Physicochemical properties of polymers and polymer solutions, average molecular weights, phase behaviors, thermodynamics for their dissolution, thermal aspects and flow characteristics.
