Objectives of the Course
Introduction of woven and knitted structures, identify the basic fabric structures, analysis of woven and knitted fabric samples (preparing of the construction and color report, determination of the amount of yarn according to order.

1The ability to understand the structural properties of woven and knitted structures
2The skill of preparation of weave pattern, repeat of draft, dobby plating for woven fabric and to draw the stitch diagrams and cam arrangements of knitted structures
3The ability of making the numerical analysis about woven and knitted fabrics (Yarn count, fabric mass per unit area, weight, fabric tightness, the amount of yarn etc.)
4The individual skill of analysis the woven and knitted fabrics

Course Contents
Classification of the fabrics, introduction of the basic structures, analysis of fabric samples (For woven fabrics: calculation of reed width, reed number, total number of picks, fabric weights and required yarn weights, preparing of weave pattern, repeat of draft, dobby plating and color report, determination of the amount of weft and warp yarn and fabric weight; for knitted fabrics: determination of the stitch diagram, color report and fabric density for knitted fabrics.)
