Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course unit is to make students understand the regions of Turkey as a whole and in a comparative approach before they take the each course on geographical regions of Turkey and to teach the other regions created for various purposes.

1Understand the concept of “region” in the discipline of geography and other disciplines,
2Undestand the formation and the distinctive characteristics of geographical regions of Turkey.
3Compare the geographical regions of Turkey in aspect of different features (development, transportation, population, urbanization, migration, tourism, agriculture, industry etc.)
4Distinguish the shares and importance of each region in Turkey,
5Learn the understanding of “region” of different institutions in Turkey
