Objectives of the Course
The objective of this course unit to make students apprehend the dynamics of the developments of today’s rapidly changing world and the meanings of globalization within different definitions and approaches. It also seeks to upskill the students to interpret the interaction between the local contexts and the forcing power of globalization and the social-spatial reflexions of this process. However it is a fact that the global issues are well related to each other and difficult to distinguish, it will be dealed with under some main titles referring to dimensions such as economic, social and cultural globalization.

Learning Outcomes
1After taking this course, the students can; Interpret the global connectivity in various dimension (economic, environments, culture etc.)
2Develop their own perspective through learning the different meanings and plus and minus of globalization.
3Gain a realistic view about the global networks not necessarily ignoring the dichotomies created such as south-north, first and third worlds, developed-underdeveloped, centre-periphery etc. but looking beyond them.
