Objectives of the Course
To learn the terminology of fish diseases, the role and importance of biotic and abiotic factors which causing to fish disease, transmission routes of fish diseases, How a disease develops and what is the importance of stress, drugs for treatment of fish diseases and their doses and application routes, maximal residue level concept, drug residues and their harmful effect on consumers as well as to the environment, the diagnosis of bacterial viral fungal and parasitic fish diseases. Prevention measures and vaccination in fish diseases. Regulations, laws and official record keeping regarding fish diseases.

6Understanding the kinds of vaccines, benefits and drawbacks of the vaccines depending on their kinds and applications, to put into practice a vaccination program in a fish farm
7Understanding the diagnosis of bacterial, viral, mycotic and parasitic diseases of fish
8Sampling and sending the fish to the laboratory for diagnosis of fish diseases and certification examinations

The importance of fish diseases, the definition of disease and disease types, causes of death in fish, definition and types of infection, pathogen, saprophyte, residue, and the definition of virulence, measurement of virulence, Sampling and sending fish for diagnosis of fish diseases, Sampling and sending of fish for health certification, Regulations rules and laws on fish diseases in EC USA OIE and in Turkey, Principle use of drugs in fish, Prevention and control measures in fish diseases, quarantine practices, vaccination
