Objectives of the Course
To be able to give basic information about Occupational health and safety (OHS) of employee, description of principle technics, and regulations of the workplace in the fishing areas, and their research and industry.

Learning Outcomes
1Obtain to basic information and necessity of risks, accident and occupational disease in Fisheries workplace.
2Be able to learn risk management and evolution in Fisheries.
3Learn OHS in dangerous and heavy working area.
4Learn risks in the workplace.
5Be able to understand ethics, education and communication in workplace.
6Obtain the basic information about the risk assessment methods, analyzing methods, HAZAN, HAZOP and examples.
7Obtain the basic information about the explosions and fires: Types of fire and gas and dust explosions, BLEVE.

Course Contents
During the course it is aimed to define to risks and preventions in fisheries, and risk management and evolution, technical points of OHS, dangerous and heavy works, Multiple-shift operations, ethics and education are describe in the lesson of OHS II.

3Definitions of occupational disease and accidents in the Fisheries.
4Risk management and evolution I (Definition and description)
5Risk management and evolution II (Risk Analysis)
6OHS in the heavy and dangerous workplace, structures of outlying buildings.
7Conception and production of workplace equipments and OHS
8Midterm exam
9OHS in welding and electricity.
10OHS of lifting and mechanical handling appliences, machine and screen vehicles, and repair and maintenance.
11OHS of small tools, hand-lifting and transportation technics.
12OHS of ventillation and air-condition, and pressure vessels.
13OHS of indoor area, constructioning, mining, high-rise structure and underwater areas.
14Special risk groups and multiple-shift operation in OHS.
15Ethics, education and communication in the workplace.
16Final exam
