Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to provide learners the general knowledge to recognize pests in the field of plant protection at Phylum or Order level, to understand their biology, damage symptoms and control measurements. The aim of this course is also to give fundamental knowledge on morphological structures, symptoms and distribution patterns of fungal, bacterial and viral agents causing diseases in plants, and general features of weeds, their benefits and harmful effects, and to get understanding the control methods of these plant pathogens and weeds.

2Recognize the animal pests which are belong to Nematoda, Annelida, Mollusca, Arthropoda (Arachnida, Insecta), Chordata Phylum’s
3To understand the concept of disease in plants, to gain information on which factors cause diseases and problems created by weeds in plants
4To understand the main points of control methods with these agents, factors and weeds

General informations to recognize the harmful and beneficial species belongs to Nematoda, Annelida, Mollusca, Arthropoda (Arachnida, Insecta), Chordata phylum’s and their biology and damage symptoms.Control methods used for Agricultural pests.The concept and definition of disease in plants, disease symptoms, Causes of plant diseases, Abiotic plant diseases factors, Weeds,Biotic plant diseases agents,General features of plant pathogenic viruses and their symptoms,General features of plant pathogenic prokaryotes and their symptoms,General features of plant pathogenic fungi and their symptoms,Control methods for plant pathogens and weeds.
