The aim of this course is to provide students with basic theoretical framework and knowledge of agricultural electrification.

1Understanding the different types of electric motors and to choose the appropriate one for agricultural work
2Determining of appropriate lamp and their characteristics of electrical lighting applications in agricultural buildings.
3To select appropriate electric heating techniques for agricultural applications and to determine the assembly characteristics of soil heating plant.
4To be able to calculate the cross-section of conductor for agricultural electrification applications.
5To understand of the security measures in electricity.
6Understanding of descriptions and importance of agricultural electrification
7Understanding, production methods of electrical energy and it s transmission in agricultural settlements.

1Course description, explanation of topics, activities, evaluation methods and the functioning.
2The importance of electric energy, scope of agricultural electrification and its situation in Turkey. The criteria for determining of agricultural electrification levels.
3The used methods in the production of electrical energy.
4Electric energy transmission from supply network to the agricultural area. The transformers used in agricultural electrification and to determine of the necessary transformers power. The conductors, electric poles and insulators used in outside installation.
5The types of electric motors and their useage in agricultural area.
6To choice of electric motors for agricultural electrification. To reduce the blind power in electric motor circuits. Maintenance, breakdowns and repairs of electric motors.
7Electrical lighting techniques in agriculture. Basic definitions related to lighting. Electric light sources. Lamp types used in agriculture, reflective and Skylights.
