Objectives of the Course
The main goal of this course is to help fresher students utilizing computer technology at maximum and efficiently use information technologies in sociological Studies

Learning Outcomes
1to be able to use information technologies in sociological studies
2using a table and graphic software so that to be able to write and organize basic functions, do simple statistical analyses, create graphs and make various calculations
3using a presentation graphic software to create and design slides and presentations for an academic paper or a talk that has visual material or evidences
4to be able to efficiently use the computer networks, databases and the internet resources
5nderstanding basic computer related terminology in english

Competence in English: Being able to read, write, understand and speak in English
Recommended Optional Programme Components
The students are recommended to take previous course “Computer I” in first semester before attending the course. The students are recommended to do further practices after the class to get better understanding and to develop their skills in using computer technology
Course Contents
The course content covers following subjects:general information on a table and graphic software, simple functions, operations, formatting cells, rows and columns, data entry, how to select, copy cut and paste in Excel, how to Create a custom list, to make conditional formatting and to write your own function (with illustrations from the logical function IF), defining names and labels, creating filters, possible operations that can be done by “paste special” feature, “data validation”, “goal seek” and “solver” features, how to use simple statistical functions such as mean and frequency, sub-totals, scenarios, data import/export, data verification, general information on a presentation graphic software, how to create and design a presentation, how to add/delete/move the slides, working with visual materials: time settings, animations, basic terminology related to the Internet technology, network , Internet and user: security issues, how to use efficiently the Internet resources, basic information about servers, browsers, databases etc, possible problems in using Internet, table, graphic or presentation graphic software and possible solutions,
