Objectives of the Course
To provide information about pharmacopoeia and medicinal plant / herbal drug monographs, which are the basic scientific sources, which determine the content, therapeutic effect and quality standards of herbal medicine raw materials prepared by national, regional or international authorities.

1To have information about the Pharmacopoeia and medicinal plants / herbal drugs monographs in Turkey and in the world
2To express the content, therapeutic effect and quality standards of herbal medicinal raw materials
3To be able to comprehend national and international standards in herbal medicine production
4To understand the importance of identification and standardization of medicinal plants in preparation of pharmaceutical products
5To understand the effects, interactions and toxicities of medicinal plants
6To have knowledge about the quality control of medicinal plants and herbal drugs and to provide consultancy services in this regard

The lecture includes: The importance of pharmacopoeia monographs on herbal drugs Turkey, Pharmacognosy and Phytotherapy Association (FFD) monographs, World Health Organization (WHO) monographs, German Commission E monographs, European Scientific Cooperative on Phytotherapy (ESCOP) ) monographs, European Union (EU) monographs, TF European Pharmacopoeia Adaptation 2016, Turkish Pharmacopoeia II (2017), British and American Herbal Pharmacopoe, United States Pharmacopeia/Herbal Medicines Compendium (USP/HMC)
