Objectives of the Course
• To familiarize students with solid, gaseous and liquid fuels and their conversion technologies • To familiarize students with combustion characteristics of fuels. • To familiarize students with alternative energy sources. • To familiarize the student with energy systems and management, and environmental effects.

Introduction to energy resources. Classification and properties of fuels. Coal chemistry and technology. Secondary fuels from solid fuels. Natural gas chemistry and technology. Crude petroleum and refining process. Conversion of petroleum products. Fuel testing Combustion characteristics of fuels. Nuclear technology. Renewable energy technologies.
