Objectives of the Course
The main aim of the course is to give the students opportunity to recognise the diseases in field crops commonly grown in our country, to learn the methods used in the diagnosis, detection and control of these diseases and to realize solving the problem faced on this matter and reporting the results obtained.

Learning Outcomes
1Define the concepts and function of plant medicine and comprehend its potential in agricultural production
2Express the symptoms of diseases and damages in plants and recognize the principles and techniques used for the diagnosis and detection
3Apply science working as a diagnostician and detective to identify and solve plant health problems
4Develop plant health management systems that maximize the economic, environmental and social sustainability
5Design the reports for solutions of the problems related to plant health

Course Contents
- The basic knowledge about abiotic and biotic borne diseases in field crops - The information on about geographic distribution, damages, symptoms and hosts of these diseases - Morphology, disease cycles and spread and transmission ways of the pathogens in field crops - The measures to be considered in the control of diseases in field crops - The steps applied in diagnosis and detection of field crop diseases in the works of laboratory and domain and proposing for their control
