Objectives of the Course
The objective of this course is to acquaint the student with the concepts in the field of photonics and laser. This includes geometrical and physical optics, semconductor materials, optoelectronics and laser systems.

Photonics: an historical outline and applications, propagation of light, waveguide optics, photon optics, nonlinear optics, Laser systems, optic fibers, optoelectronic components, imaging devices.
