History
Faculty of Pharmacy, Ege University, has been established in 1975
Qualification Awarded
Master's Degree in Pharmacy is awarded to the graduates who have sucessfully fulfilled the programme requirements.

Specific Admission Requirements
The requirements for enrollment to the Faculty of Pharmacy are determined by the Council of Higher Education on the basis of the proposal of Ege University Senate. The enrollment requirements are announced in the guide book of Student Selection and Placement Centre in every academic year. For enrollment qualification, the students should provide required ranking score from the Student Selection and Placement Exam made by the Council of Higher Education.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stage of Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Ege University and hence of the Faculty of Pharmacy is not an exception to this. However, exams of exemption are organized at the srat of each academic year at the Faculty for the courses of English Language and Computer Skills. The students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given right to take the exemption exams. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The master’s degree is awarded to students who have successfully completed all courses in the five-year curriculum including six-month pharmacy training period (totally 300 ECTS) and have obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) value of at least 2.00 on a 4.00 scale without any failing grades.
Profile of The Programme
The five-year program (10 semesters, 300 ECTS credits) is designed to provide the fundamentals of contemporary pharmacy. The first and second year curriculum is composed of courses related to the basic pharmaceutical sciences. The third and fourth years intensively cover the courses with theorotical and practical aspects in pharmaceutical sciences. The fifth year includes a written dissertation, elective courses in the pharmacy professional career such as community pharmacy, industrial pharmacy and pharmacy in hospital, and a pharmacy training period
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy, being health professionals, under the rights and privileges given by the laws, can serve as pharmacists in community and hospital pharmacies, hospital clinics and in all phases of pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Research and academic activities are also significant career opportunities for graduates.
Access to Further Studies
All graduates, having the master's degree in pharmacy, may apply to Ph. D. programs.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Exams in the Faculty of Pharmacy are composed of midterm, final and make-up exams. Grading is performed by adding the 40 percent of the midterm grade to the 60 percent of final / make-up exam grade for each course and assessments are realized according to the relative assessment procedure described in the Guide of Education Regulations of Ege University. The success states of the students are specified by Grade Point Averages (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

Facilities
The Faculty consists of the Departments of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professional Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Pharmaceutical Technology. The divisions of Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Botanics, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacy Management, Pharmaceutical Technology, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology comprise these three main departments. The facilities of the faculty are as follows; Student and Research Laboratories, Computer Facility Centre, Faculty Practice Pharmacy, Cell Culture Laboratory and FABAL- Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Laboratory.

1Ability to perform pharmacy profession in accordance with laws and regulations, in the frame of ethical and deontological principles and to use his/her own initiative in this manner when necessary
2Ability to utilize his/her professional knowledge for elevating the life quality and health state of the community
3Ability to manage the relationship among persons and the processes in pharmacy professional services and to use his/her communication skills.
4Ability to design work processes of pharmacy services, to be a member of a working team as a joint partner and to conduct these actions
5Ability to develop new policies to promote health service quality while being aware of the global and national health issues
6Ability to acquire the concepts on the mechanism, maintenance and pathology of the biological systems forming the fundamentals of human health
7Ability to combine basic and practical natural and applied sciences with pharmacy profession and to utilize this knowledge in pharmacy practice.
8Ability to develope solutions by combining and analyzing the proficiency in pharmacy with the knowledge of various disciplines
9Ability to acquire sufficient knowledge and practical skills on the research, development and production of natural, synthetic and biological drug substances and excipients
10Ability to adopt sufficient knowledge and practical skills on the research, development and production of pharmaceutical preparations and medicinal products
11Ability to gain sufficient knowledge and practice skills on the physical, chemical, biological, microbiological and toxicological analyses of drug active substances and excipients, pharmaceutical preparations and medical products
12Ability to provide the pharmacy professional services required by the primary health care service
13Ability to gain and to utilize sufficient knowledge on the optimum dosage, application method and incompatibility of the drugs in the prescription prior to the dispense
14Ability to meet the requirements of the prescriptions in an appropriate manner, utilizing the knowledge on the metabolisms, effects and applications of the drugs and medicinal products
15Ability to conduct patient records in accordance with clinical pharmacy practices and pharmaceutical care to provide optimal use of drugs and to present consultancy to the patients, physicians and other health professionals.
16Ability to integrate the processes of evaluation, substitution and determination of the drug therapy in accordance with clinical pharmacy practices and pharmaceutical care to provide optimal use of drugs in patient aspect and to develop sufficient knowledge and practice skills in this area
17Ability to adopt monitorisation, evaluation and solution developing skills for inducing rational drug use
18Ability to conduct teaching, consultancy and inspection on the field of drugs and health issues
19Ability to gain sufficient knowledge and practical skills on the technical equipments, information resources and softwares required by the pharmacy professional practice areas
20Ability to follow novel knowledge and developments in pharmacy professional practice areas and communicate with colleagues by using at least one foreign language
21Ability to acquire novel information on the pharmacy professional practices, science, technology, modern thinking and acting, while being aware of life-long learning, and to improve and to deepen this knowledge
